Castle Key Presents

Geoffrey Castle
Saturday June 5th  — Castle Key Dining Room
7:30 to 10:30 p.m.
Cover charge $10.00

One man, one violin, it is truly amazing the music this man can make with his instrument of choice.  Castle's career includes time spent as a street musician in New York City, performing in the Broadway production of the Tony Award-winning M. Butterfly with Tony Randall, playing with rock greats like Blues Traveler, Jimmy Buffet, Alan White, Buddy Miles, Roger Fisher, Mike Derosier, Ann & Nancy Wilson, and lots more.

As a solo performer, however, Castle truly stands out. Combining state of the art technology and the stage presence of a magician at work, Castle creates the sound and the power of a full band, all live in front of amazed audiences from Alaska to Aguascalientes, Mexico. This new approach to performance led to the recording of his first solo CD, Mist on the Mountain, which was called a "masterpiece" by the critics around the country.

Geoffrey will be fresh off a performance at the Triple Door in Seattle and we are proud to have convinced him to swing into the Castle Key in Port Townsend for a one night engagement in our intimate and acoustically stellar dining room. This is a show that should not be missed!

The spirit of music is in the wind.  If you listen with your heart melodies are revealed.  They may be beautiful, dangerous, inspiring, exotic, truthful, or spiritual depending on the messenger.  Mitchell Culpepper singer, guitar player and leader of the Pep Culpepper Trio demonstrates his understanding of the melodies that appear to him through his heart.   Mitchell is a descendant of the Mississippi Choctaw Nation and is a 'magda vehu' which means 'Black Indian'.  He discovered the magic of music through his voice and guitar at an early age and has been playing clubs since he was a teenager.   Mitchell has played with such music industry icons as Bruce Hornsby and Bradford Marsallis.  Above all else Mitchell confesses, "I keep it real.  I am not interested in styles, trends, or what other cats are playing.  I am free and I have something to say."  This will be the Pep Culpepper Trio's first visit to the Castle Key and it promises to be a creative and invigorating show.
